Quick Start
From the moment you receive the router to your first monitored dashboard in less than 10 minutes—without the need for a network technician.
If you ordered an Eziwan Gateway with a pre-programmed ZTP token, skip directly to Step 4 — Installation. Everything else is automatic.
What You Need
| Item | Details |
|---|---|
| Eziwan Account | Request access → |
| Eziwan Gateway | Delivers 2 business days after order |
| Power Supply | 9–30V DC (included in the box) |
| SIM (if not pre-installed) | Orange, SFR, or Bouygues Nano-SIM |
Step 1 — Access the dashboard
Log in to app.eziwan.com using your login credentials.
When you log in for the first time, you'll be taken to your fleet management dashboard. If your router has a preconfigured token, it will appear under "Provisioning Pending" as soon as it is turned on.
Step 2 — Create a deployment profile (optional)
This is useful if you are deploying multiple routers with the same basic configuration.
- Go to Park → Deployment Profiles → New
- Name the profile (e.g.,
Site-Production-A) - Configure the common settings:
- VPN protocol (OpenVPN recommended)
- MQTT configuration, if applicable
- RS485/Modbus settings, if applicable
- Save
Step 3 — Generate a provisioning token
- Go to Park → New Device
- Select your deployment profile (or configure it manually)
- Click Generate ZTP Token
- The token (in
np_ztp_xxxxxxxxformat) is valid for 72 hours
The token will be factory-flashed if you ordered it with this option; in that case, this step has already been completed.
Step 4 — Install the router

In order:
- Screw the LTE antenna onto the SMA connector (top panel)
- Insert the SIM cards into the Nano-SIM slots (contact side facing down)
- Connect the power supply (9–30V DC) to the
+/−terminal block - Wait 30–60 seconds — the router will boot up
Meaning of the LED Indicators
| Indicator | Status | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| PWR | Solid green | Power OK |
| SIM | Flashing green | LTE connection in progress |
| SIM | Solid green | Connected to the LTE network |
| VPN | Solid blue | VPN tunnel established ✓ |
| SIM | Red | No signal — move device or add an external antenna |
Never turn on the router without an LTE antenna connected—doing so may damage the modem.
Step 5 — Verify Activation in Eziwan
In your dashboard, the router appears under Fleet → Devices within 2 minutes.
You'll see:
- Status:
ONLINEwith a green indicator - Active carrier: SIM1 or SIM2 (e.g., Orange — 4G LTE)
- RSRP signal: -75 dBm (excellent), -95 dBm (good), -105 dBm (weak)
- VPN tunnel IP address: 10.24.x.x
- Cloud latency: ~25 ms (typical)
Step 6 — Set Up Alerts
Set up at least these three alerts for operational monitoring:
- Click on your device → Alerts → New Alert
| Alert | Condition | Channel |
|---|---|---|
| Offline | Device offline for > 2 min | Email + SMS |
| Weak Signal | RSRP < -100 dBm | |
| SIM Failover | Switch from SIM1 to SIM2 |
Next Steps
Your router is up and running. Depending on your use case:
- Remote VPN Access: Configure OpenVPN / IPSec →
- RS485 Sensor Data Collection: Modbus RTU Guide →
- MQTT Publishing: MQTT Guide →
- Fleet Management: Administration →
Quick Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Probable Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Red SIM light | No LTE signal | Move the router or add an external magnetic antenna |
| Does not appear after 5 min | ZTP token expired (>72h) | Generate a new token in the dashboard |
| VPN won’t connect | UDP 1194 blocked | Allow outbound UDP 1194 on the firewall |
| RSRP < -105 dBm | Insufficient signal | External SMA antenna (gain +5 to +10 dB) |
| SIM error | SIM not activated | Check SIM activation in Eziwan → Settings → SIM |

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take to launch a website?
About ten minutes: DIN rail mounting, antennas, SIM card (already inserted in pre-provisioned kits), 24 V power supply. Zero Touch Provisioning does the rest—the site appears in the console without any manual configuration.
Do you need networking skills to install the gateway?
No: No IP, APN, or VPN settings are required on-site. An electrician or maintenance technician performs the installation; the configuration is automatically pushed from the cloud.
Which SIM card should I use?
The one provided with the gateway: a pre-activated multi-carrier M2M SIM card with the APN already configured. If you're using your own SIM card, simply enter its APN in the site profile.
What should you do if the 4G signal is weak?
Mount the antennas outside the cabinet (magnetic mounts provided), or switch to a high-gain antenna pointed toward the nearest repeater. The console displays the RSRP/RSRQ in real time to confirm the improvement.
