Since 2023, carriers have been gradually shutting down their 2G and 3G networks. Thousands of GPRS modems installed at pumping stations are no longer communicating. Alarms are not being received.
Pumping stations, reservoirs, and pumping stations are often located in areas with no service or very limited network coverage. It is impossible to install a fixed ADSL or fiber-optic line.
The Water Framework Directive and prefectural decrees require continuous monitoring of facilities. Failure to comply with these monitoring requirements may result in penalties and a formal notice to the service.
