What is an industrial cloud data logger?
An industrial cloud data logger is a system that continuously records process measurements, accurately time-stamps them, stores them locally in the event of a network outage, and synchronizes them to the cloud for visualization, analysis, and long-term archiving.
It differs from a simple local data logger or a real-time dashboard in three ways:
- Continuous logging: Data is captured even without an Internet connection
- Long-term history: Months to years of data accessible via time-based queries
- Export and reporting: Automatic generation of CSV/PDF reports for compliance and audits

- High/Low Threshold: alerts if the value is greater than the configured maximum or less than the configured minimum
- Sudden Change (rate-of-change): alerts if the value changes too quickly

- Composite: alerts if condition A AND condition B are met simultaneously
