What is an IoT router?
An IoT router—also known as a cellular router or industrial 4G/5G router—is a device that provides Internet connectivity to a site or machine via the mobile network, without a landline. It uses a SIM card to connect to the 4G/LTE or 5G network and provides secure network access to connected devices.
Whereas a home internet router simply shares a connection, an IoT router is designed for industrial use: it operates continuously, under harsh conditions, at unmanned sites, for years on end.
